Welcome to our Crazy Critters!
We are a small family breeder of African Pygmy Hedgehogs located in Central Massachusetts.
Our goal is to produce healthy, friendly, and well socialized pets for your family to enjoy as ours does.
Our Crazy Critters include our herd of darling, friendly Hedgehogs, colorful Corn Snakes, stunning Red Tailed Boas, full of personality Bearded Dragons, loving Rats (both standard size and dwarf), and our famliy Dog. Our breeding is concentrated on Hedgehogs and Corn Snakes at present. Once our more than adorable dwarf rats are old enough they will be included in a joint project with a dear friend and mentor. We are planning to begin breeding the Boas in a few years once they reach the appropriate size/age.
We strive to make forever matches with our hedgehogs. Being small we are able to work with each of our babies and learn their personalities. That helps to facilitate the best match for you with a forever friend.

So you're here looking through our website wondering, "why?"
The "crazy critters" began with a pet ball python that we bought at a petstore. He was infested with mites and really just not healthy. After many vet bills he lost his fight and passed away. That incident propelled us to search for a place to find a healthy animal. Through research, asking around, and meeting people we found a small corn snake breeder and purchased Romeo - our bubblegum corn snake. It was such a joy to have a healthy animal :) Through all the "shopping" that we did to find a reputable breeder we devoloped an affinity for the beautiful colors that corn snakes came in. SO we shopped some more and more :)
After our fourth child we stumbled into finding hedgehogs. I had a rat cage that I was selling. A wonderful woman needed it... and so the hedgehogs came! She happened to be a breeder of these exotic beauties. I was smitten as was my husband. After owning them for a while we decided that breeding and sharing the unique character of hedgehogs was something we wanted to do. My dear friend became a mentor and our inspiration.
The uniqueness of these little creatures is so intoxicating. Love. This joy we have found in our hedgehogs is something we want to share with others. Through choosing from friendly, healthy lines, and being mentored by some really terrific breeders we have filled our herd with a few real lookers that bring endless joy to our family and maybe to yours too! Our children are a great help with socializing the hedgies as they play with them daily - giving eskimo kisses, snuggles, and setting up obstacle courses for them to run.
We are located in Central Massachusetts with four kids and a house full of Crazy Critters - laughing, playing, and savoring all of the joy kids and animals bestow.
